Bouldering will be in the Olympics this week in a combined format with sport climbing (lead).
Elite athletes from around the globe will compete in both formats with scores being combined for the one medal. Combining these two disciplines is typically not done so this process brings along it's own element of controversary.
Bouldering is proposed to separate from sport climbing in the 2028 LA Olympics but we'll wait for confirmation on this. In the mean time, heck...this is the Olympics and it's the world's biggest stage so let's just enjoy the show for what it is.
