The build up was good but it simply wasn't their night when it mattered most.

Having taken out the minor premiership the top grade Badgers felt every right to go into the final as favourites.  They won all but one game throughout the season and a solid team was selected for the final.

The early boulders played to their strengths with strength and co-ordination served up on a platter.  They took a 5 point lead into half time but certainly could have been more as the usual chemistry didn't seem to be on song.

Their lead stretched out to 10 points after boulder C but boulder D proved a last-minute killer.  Boulder D was a technical slab with a complex early sequence that they just couldn't unpack in the moment.  The Donx did and they took the win by 5 points.

Sport has so many what if moments and this is certainly a game for just that.  In the end, it just wasn't the night for the gold team.

Whatever way they look at it, the Badgers had a cracking first ever A Grade season and showed throughout the season how to play the game and their whole squad should be proud of themselves in 2024.
