Like all sports, there are just some things you need. In this case it's simply a pair of climbing shoes and they're compulsory to play the sport.
Hire shoes available on hand for beginners but once you move past this you might want to consider buying your own pair.
Hire shoes are free of charge for: First season, school groups during school hours, and adult casual guests (flat rate). Otherwise: $5 / session or you purchase your own shoes.
Boulderers have their own shoes. It's just a part of what we do.
