The A Grade competition started last night and it kicked off with a bang.  Donkeys v Honey Badgers and it was the Donkeys who prevailed on top after a tight wrestle.

Both teams were looking to start the season well and fielded strong teams.  The energy in the house was obvious from the start.

The Donkeys won the coin toss and elected to start on B1 meaning the Badgers started on B2 simultaneously.  B1 involved a series of dynamic sequences with a mixed combination of power required.  The Donkeys read it well and collectively unpacked it well to score 55 points.  The Badgers had a similar start on B2 powering their way to 65 points.

By half time it was neck and neck with only two points separating the teams at 100 to 102 points - Donkeys in front.

Both teams continued well after half time and it was anyone's game with one boulder to go.  However, the Badgers stumbled and the Donkeys kicked and when Fred Eather and Nikala Murray both topped the gap widened and the team in red took an unassailable lead.  Donkeys won 187 to Badgers 152 and take an early 2 point lead on the ladder.

This was game one of our first ever A Grade competition so congratulations and a massive thank you to everyone involved to bring this event to life.
