In conjunction with the Local Aboriginal Lands Council (LALC), the Op Hub and Ten4 Australia, a group of McCarthy year 7 and 8 aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students had the opportunity to taste test our sport in November 2022.

One off sessions are often enough to get a feel of how things work and what it's all about but if it's health outcomes you're looking for then more time is required.  And the MCC students had 4 weeks and the feedback was tremendous.

It's hard work and deliberately so.  Each week the students built upon their learnings from previous weeks.  Our sport is team based so the more they help each other the better the team fares also.  Resilience, self efficacy, confidence and strength are all terms commonly used here and each student grows in different ways.  Thank you Lisa and Kobey for helping facilitate this for the students.

The door is open now for these students to engage in the T4L on a regular basis and join the community of like minded people.
