In the lead up to the event the energy was pumping coming off the back of the first ever High School Club Championship.

The Honey Badgers remained firm favourites, the Hornets were solid in their player line up whilst the Donkeys had a disrupted week but rallied together well late.

It really was the Honey Badgers who dominated from the start and the gap widened as the night continued. Archie Eather and Henry George led the way with four flashes from as many attempts which dominated the score board.  Lachie McNee wasn't far behind and the team laid down a solid total score of 340.

The race for second however was tight.

The Donkeys had led the Hornets all season but there were a number of first time finalists in both teams so anything could happen.  Fred Eather led the Donkeys with three tops and Mervin Liang did the same in the Hornets.  In the end it was the Hornets who came in second with a score of 215 with an extra top from Kyle Fensbo being the key difference.  A late injury to Jared McAlpin didn't help the Donkeys and ultimately they finished on 190 points.

The Honey Badgers continued their dominance of the competition.  They deserved with win and are in a purple patch.  However, the youth are coming on strong and will ultimately filter into the opens so well done and enjoy the moment Badgers.

Thank you again for sponsors, event coordinators and helpers, members, guest and of course the players for making this a truly unique experience, showcasing our sport and culture.
