We're proud of him and it's hard not to be.
On his own accord without any other influence than the desire to do it, Fred Eather set out a rather ambitious goal in the name of helping kids in Africa.
Fred decided to climb the height equivalent of mount Kilimanjaro (5895m) in the gym to raise funds to buy jerry cans for kids in Uganda through our affiliated charity Life Charity Focus Uganda.
This is not hiking. This is vertical climbing and Fred is 9 yrs old.
In blocks of over 200 routes per day, Fred punched out the 5895m in less than a week and raised enough money for 33 jerry cans Then slept.
In their annual sports awards, Fred took home the Cara Hickson Award in recognition for his remarkable efforts.
