The Hornets opens team was down a few regular faces for the T4L 25 finals. This creates opportunity for young guys to step up and learn and for growth without expectations. And that they did and did it well.
Led by the forever-young Col Cowell, the new look Hornets found it hard to gain traction on the scoreboard on Friday night but such experience of this event is invaluable. Together with Greg Tighe and Ben Fraser, the experienced hands provided solid mentors to the younger team members.
Boulder 2 blue wood showed how invaluable this can be. It was a technical dynamic sequence that requires the backing off of power and Ben showed the finesse required to pull it together and all but top it and lead the way for the younger guys.
Young guns Lachie French and Tom McAlpine ripped in with much energy and together the team learnt plenty and did themselves and the club proud. Nice work Hornets!
