They've gone back-to-back and continue their winning ways but the Honey Badgers didn't have it all their way and were pushed all the way in the T4L 23 opens final.

The scoreboard read Honey Badgers 221 points, Donkeys 194 and the Hornets 80.  The Hornets are better than the scoreboard showed and came into the final with the most consistent team of all three but simply didn't convert on the night.

Cooper Gale, Lachine McNee, Brendan Byrne, Archie Eather and Ash Watt made up the Honey Badgers team and were made to work hard for the result.

Fred Eather and Henry George led the way for the Donkeys and when Fred broke beta on the technical slab P2 they gained a healthy lead over the pack. They capitalised on the scoreboard with Nikala Murray and Lachie Butters jumping all over this opportunity. P3 was even and it needed a strong finish from the Honey Badgers to come home over the top of the Donkeys who held a healthy lead till the final minutes.

A technical dynamic start on P4 wreaked havoc for many players from all clubs and Fred finished well to reach zone 2 to extend the Donkey's lead.  It came down to Lachie McNee and Archie Eather from the Honey Badgers to come home strong to challenge the equation.

Lachie delivered just that with a well earned second attempt top to overtake the Donkeys and bring home the bacon again for the Honey Badgers.  Archie also topped P4 to extend the lead as a sweetener for the win.

Credit to the Badgers who now have three wins in a row and continue their dominance of the T4L Club Championship finals.

We thank all our sponsors, partners, volunteers, players and all club members who help made the T4L 23 such an enjoyable season.  Well done Badgers you've done yourselves and your club proud.
