There's no doubt about it - the Hornets are on the up in the Opens Club Championship. Their growth has been consistent and this will be tested come finals time.
However, they'll be without the quiet secret weapon Mervin Liang. Mervin performed exceptionally well in the pervious finals and has only grown since then with top of the leader board scores throughout the season. Unfortunately for the Hornets he'll be away on work duties over the finals.
Mervin's skillsets are hard to replace. Experience and mental strength is important in the finals but luckily for the Hornets they've plenty of that throughout their team also. They'll miss him but no doubt the team will rise to the occasion. We'll find out soon enough.
